Independent. Federal. California.
Common Sense for California is an independent federal political committee. We find the voters who decide close races, talk with them one household at a time, and make sure they vote. We answer to no candidate and no party.
Federal Election Commission ID C00942920 · Every contribution and every expenditure is reported.
Who we are
Most political money goes to people who have already made up their minds. We spend on the ones who have not.
Common Sense for California runs independent voter programs in the districts where the margin is thin. We start from the voter file, not a media plan: we identify the households that are genuinely undecided, reach them directly, test what moves them, and stay with them through the day their ballot is counted.
We are organized as an independent expenditure committee under federal law. That lets us accept contributions of any amount from individuals, corporations, partnerships and other organizations, and it obliges us to report every dollar in and every dollar out to the Federal Election Commission.
How we work
We do not carpet a district with advertising and hope. We identify the households that decide the outcome and reach them directly, in the order the calendar demands.
Why California
No state sends more members to Congress, and no state has more seats decided by a few thousand votes. Winning California's close districts is how the country gets a Congress that reflects it.
